Situatie
After installing Windows 11, the computer boots very slowly and some applications take a long time to open. Additionally, the system uses a large amount of RAM immediately after startup.
Solutie
To optimize Windows 11 startup and reduce RAM and CPU usage, follow the steps below:
1. Disable startup applications

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

Go to the Startup apps tab

Disable applications that are not necessary at system startup (for example: game launchers, chat apps, auto-updaters).
2. Disable background applications

Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps

Select an application
-
Click Advanced options
-
Under Background app permissions, choose Never.
3. Enable Fast Startup

Open Control Panel
-
Go to Power Options
-
Click Choose what the power buttons do

Enable Turn on fast startup (recommended).

Save the changes.
4. Remove temporary files

Open Settings → System → Storage
-
Click Temporary files
-
Select unnecessary files and click Remove files.
5. Update Windows and drivers

Open Settings → Windows Update
-
Click Check for updates
-
Install all available updates, including driver updates.
