Boost Adobe Acrobat Performance by disabling AI features

For users working on less powerful computers, disabling the Generative AI features can help reduce resource consumption, improve responsiveness, and provide a smoother experience when viewing and editing PDF documents.

Solutie

Step 1 – Open Preferences

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader
  2. Go to Menu > Preferences

Step 2 – Disable Generative AI

  1. In the left panel, select Generative AI
  2. Uncheck the following option: Enable generative AI features in Acrobat

Click OK to save the changes.

Step 3 – Restart Adobe Acrobat

To further reduce background activity, you can also disable a few online features:

  1. Go to Preferences > General
  2.  Uncheck:
  • Show online storage when opening files
  • Show online storage when saving files

  • Show me messages when I launch Adobe Acrobat

These settings do not disable AI, but they can help reduce unnecessary background activity and improve the overall responsiveness of Adobe Acrobat.
