How to check if a device is connected or not to a certain port in the switch

Situatie

We suppose that you have a laptop that does not have a network and you do not know if it is connected to the SW or not.

Solutie

So, to get the desired information you will only need the following command:

show interfaces status 

The command will show you the status of each port on the SW. You will look at the port related to your laptop (eg: Gi1/0/23) and you will see its status (connect/notconnect).
