Disable and stop the DHCP Server service on all impacted domain controllers:
- Open the Start menu, type “Run,” and press Enter.
- In the Run dialog, type “services.msc” and click OK.
- Locate “DHCP Server” in the services list.
- If you find it, double-click to open its properties window.
- On the General tab, set the Startup type to “Disabled.”
- If the Service status shows ‘Running,’ click “Stop.”
- Click OK to save your changes.
- Repeat these steps for each affected domain controller.
If you have confirmed that your domain controllers do not require DHCP services, you can also uninstall the DHCP Server role from them using Server Manager. Here’s how:
- Open Server Manager and select “Manage,” then choose “Remove Roles and Features.”
- Click “Next” to proceed.
- Choose the local server and click “Next.”
- On the Remove server roles page, uncheck the box next to “DHCP Server.”
- Click “Remove Features,” then hit “Next.”
- On the Remove features page, click “Next” again.
- Click “Remove” to start the uninstallation.
- Once the process is finished, click “Close.”
- Repeat these steps for each affected domain controller.
