Disable Microsoft Edge Desktop Search Bar

How can one disable the Microsoft Edge desktop search bar in Windows?

Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

Type in “regedit” to enter into the Registry editor and press Enter.

In the Windows Registry window, navigate to the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge

Search for WebWidgetAllowed key and double click on it. Set its value to 0

If the WebWidgetAllowed key does not exist, you need to create it manually.

Right-click anywhere on the right-hand side of the window and click on New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
Rename the newly created key to WebWidgetAllowed
double-click on WebWidgetAllowed and set its value to 0

Close the Registry editor now and restart your PC to make the changes.
