Blocking Apps

  1. Sign in to Google Admin Console:
    • Go to admin.google.com  and log in with your administrator credentials.
  2. Navigate to App Management:
    • Select “Apps” from the Admin Console.
    • Depending on the app type, go to “Google Workspace apps,” “Marketplace apps,” or “Other apps.”
  3. Block Apps:
    • For apps you want to block, adjust the access permissions and disable them for users or groups within your organization.
  4. Save and Apply Settings:
    • Once configured, save the changes. The restrictions will take effect after propagation.

Blocking Extensions

  1. Access Chrome Management:
    • From the Admin Console, go to “Devices” > “Chrome” > “Apps & Extensions”
  2. Set Policies for Extensions:
    • Under “Users & Browsers,” select the organizational unit (OU) or group you wish to configure.
    • Use the “Blocklist” to add specific extensions by their Extension ID (you can find these IDs in the Chrome Web Store URLs).
    • Optionally, you can create an “Allowlist” for approved extensions to ensure critical tools remain accessible.
  3. Apply Policies:
    • Save the settings and enforce them across devices. Depending on your setup, it may take some time for the changes to propagate.
