Blocking Apps
- Sign in to Google Admin Console:
- Go to admin.google.com and log in with your administrator credentials.
- Navigate to App Management:
- Select “Apps” from the Admin Console.
- Depending on the app type, go to “Google Workspace apps,” “Marketplace apps,” or “Other apps.”
- Block Apps:
- For apps you want to block, adjust the access permissions and disable them for users or groups within your organization.
- Save and Apply Settings:
- Once configured, save the changes. The restrictions will take effect after propagation.
Blocking Extensions
- Access Chrome Management:
- From the Admin Console, go to “Devices” > “Chrome” > “Apps & Extensions”
- Set Policies for Extensions:
- Under “Users & Browsers,” select the organizational unit (OU) or group you wish to configure.
- Use the “Blocklist” to add specific extensions by their Extension ID (you can find these IDs in the Chrome Web Store URLs).
- Optionally, you can create an “Allowlist” for approved extensions to ensure critical tools remain accessible.
- Apply Policies:
- Save the settings and enforce them across devices. Depending on your setup, it may take some time for the changes to propagate.
