How to do if you want to cut off access to the Internet via port-security

If you want to add port-security on the port and you only want to not have access to the Internet, but not to put the port in shutdown, you will have to use the following commands:

Solutie

  • configure terminal – to enter the exec mode of the switch
  • configure interface x – where x is the interface you want to configure
  • swichport port security
  • swichport port-security maximum y – where y is the maximum number of MACs you will allow
  • swichport port-security restrict
  • swichport port-security mac-address sticky – to remain MACs saved on the port
  • write – to save the changes made.
