I recently met the situation where I liked a picture and I wanted to use its colors. In the next steps I will show you how to add in Illustrator swatches from images. Go to https://color.adobe.com/create/. It’s a very useful site for all designers.

Access the link https://color.adobe.com/create then go to Extract from an image and select a file.
After you decide what blend of colors you like go and Save it.
Maybe you have to log in in order to save the changes.
Next step is to download the swatches.
Then go to AI and select Swatches from Windows.
The new swatches have to appear like this:
