What Is a Slack “Huddle” and How Do I Start One?

Slack Logo.

Clubhouse splashed onto the scene with “drop-in” voice-only group chats. Several services have introduced their own versions of this, including Slack. Here’s how you can use Slack for quick “huddles” with your team when you need more than text.

What Is a Huddle in Slack?

A Slack Huddle is a similar concept to Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces in that there’s really not a formal meeting time or invitation. The whole idea is that people can simply “drop-in” to a Huddle whenever. And what actually is a Huddle when you join one? It’s pretty much just an audio-only chat room. There is no option to show yourself with a webcam, but on the desktop, you can share your screen. Huddles are meant for quick, casual discussions.

A Huddle can be started in any Slack channel, including direct messaging if you want to Huddle with one other person. Huddles can have up to 50 participants. You can use Huddles on Slack for desktop, iPhone, iPad, and Android.

Create External Email Warning

External email warnings are custom messages that you can add to the top of the email. It’s still a good idea to warn your users of malicious emails, even though we can now tag external emails in Exchange Online. The custom warning allows us to warn users based on the content or subject of the email.

So we are not going to warn users for every single external email with this, only if the content or subject contains specific words or phrases. To create the external email warning we are going to use Exchange Transport Rules. You can use this method both in Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premise.

We are first going to use the Office 365 Exchange Online Admin Center to configure the external email warning. At the end of the article I also have a PowerShell script that you can use.

Automatically highlighting data in your spreadsheets makes reviewing your most useful data points a cinch. So if you want to view your top- or bottom-ranked values, conditional formatting in Microsoft Excel can make that data pop.

Maybe you use Excel to track your sales team’s numbers, your students’ grades, your store location sales, or your family of website’s traffic. You can make informed decisions by seeing which rank at the top of the group or which fall to the bottom. These are ideal cases in which to use conditional formatting to call out those rankings automatically.

How to Highlight Blanks or Errors in Google Sheets

When you have a Google Sheets spreadsheet full of data, it can be difficult to see certain cells at a glance. If you have empty cells where you expect data or errors generated from formulas, you can automatically highlight them. Google Sheets offers useful features to make data entry and analysis easier. One such feature is conditional formatting. With it, you can configure your cells to contain a fill color or specific font style, color, or format when conditions like blanks or errors occur.
