HidHide – Gaming Input Peripherals Device Firewall is a filter driver that allows you to “hide” gamepads and joysticks from Windows and other programs, preventing them from being detected as game controllers. It lets you choose which applications can access the devices, making it especially useful when you’re remapping a physical controller to act as an emulated one.
Solutie
If your game ignores the real controller, great! But problems arise when the game detects both the real and emulated controllers, even though you only want it to recognize the emulated one. Many games auto-detect controllers, so they’ll see two separate devices, causing frustrating issues like double-inputs or wrong commands. For example:
- Rocket League might randomly start 2-player mode.
- Blasphemous could switch between generic and XInput/DS4 button icons.
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012) might keep warning you about an unknown device, disrupting gameplay.
This is where HidHide comes in handy. It can:
- Hide the real controller.
- Allow only the remapping tool to access the controller, so it can handle input and translate it into the emulated one.
