Configurare noua (How To)

Situatie

Many websites have bright white backgrounds which strain eyes, especially at night. Forcing dark mode across all sites improves comfort.
Audience: Everyday web users who want better eye-comfort when browsing.

Summary

You’ll install a browser extension (free) that inverts or modifies webpage colors to dark mode, and enable it for all sites.

Solutie

Steps

  1. Install the extension

    • For Chrome/Edge: go to Chrome Web Store → search for “Dark Reader” → install.

    • For Firefox: go to Add-ons → “Dark Reader” → add.

  2. Configure it

    • Click the Dark Reader icon.

    • Enable it for “All websites”.

    • Optional: adjust brightness, contrast, font-weight for better readability.

  3. Exceptions

    • If a website looks weird (colours broken), you can add the site to the “Ignore list” in the extension.

    • You can also toggle the extension off per-site.

  4. Night mode scheduling

    • In the extension settings, set a schedule (e.g., enable dark only after 19:00) if you prefer light mode during the day.

Troubleshooting & notes

  • Some websites with custom styling may still look odd; use the exception list.

  • Browser performance: enabling dark mode may use more resources (especially on older PCs).

  • Alternative: both Chrome and Firefox now have “Force Dark Mode for Web Contents” in browser flags/settings, but extension is easier and more flexible.
