XPS Viewer este un utilitar Microsoft ce a fost introdus în Windows 7 și a rămas prin preajmă, fiind folosit foarte des la vizualizarea fișierelor .xps. Este un utilitar destul de simplu, asemănător cu Adobe Reader pentru .pdf, ce a fost introdus mai târziu și în Windows 8, 8.1 și chiar și 10.
Însă, începând cu Martie 2018, odată cu Creators Update, Microsoft, fără nicio explicație, a scos accesul la acest utilitar, obligând, practic, utilizatorii să se îndrepte la soluții plătite pentru a citi un fișier .xps
