If you regularly work with multiple windows open, Windows has a handy accessibility feature that can save you a surprising number of clicks throughout the day. Instead of clicking a window before you can interact with it, you can simply move your mouse pointer over the window to make it active automatically.
To enable it, go to Settings > Accessibility. Scroll down to the Interaction section and click on Mouse. From there, turn on Activate on hover. There are two settings you can tweak there. The first one is the time until the window activates when you hover over your mouse. You can play around with this setting to find the sweet spot.
Once done, open a few windows. Keep them in windowed mode. Then try to hover your mouse over a window that’s behind the others. Without clicking, it should get the mouse focus and come to the top. It’s a small change, but one that quickly becomes second nature.
You still need to click buttons, links, and other interface elements as usual, but removing the extra click required just to focus on a window can make multitasking feel noticeably faster and smoother.
