Dual-booting lets you run both Windows and Linux on the same machine without virtualization.
Requirements:

At least 30 GB free disk space

USB flash drive (8 GB+)

Backup of important files (very important).
Solutie

Disable Fast Startup and BitLocker

Control Panel → Power Options → Disable Fast Startup

Turn off BitLocker if enabled (Linux can’t read encrypted partitions)

Shrink the Windows partition

Right-click Start → Disk Management

Shrink your main partition to free space for Linux

Leave the space unallocated

Create a bootable Linux USB

Download Ubuntu ISO
-
Use Rufus → GPT + UEFI mode

Boot from USB
-
Enter BIOS/UEFI (F2, F12, DEL depending on system)

Choose the USB drive
-

Install Linux
-
Choose Install alongside Windows
-
Assign partitions automatically (recommended)

Install GRUB bootloader
-
This allows choosing OS at startup

Restart and test
-
Confirm both OS boot correctly

Result: clean dual-boot system with full performance.
