Open PowerPoint and go to the slide where you want to add a GIF.

Go to the Insert tab and select Pictures. The Insert Picture dialog box will open.

Navigate to the location of the GIF file on your computer. Select the file, then select Insert.

Go to the Slide Show tab. Select From Current Slide in the Start Slide Show group to animate the GIF.

Open PowerPoint and go to the slide where you want to add a GIF.

Go to the Insert tab.

Select Insert Clip Art in PowerPoint 2010 or Insert Online Pictures in PowerPoint 2013 or newer.

Make sure Creative Commons Only is selected. This ensures you’re searching for images you can legally use in your presentation.

Type animated or gif in the search box and press Enter. You can narrow your options by adding a keyword, such as animated duck or business gif.

Select the GIF you want to use and select Insert to add it to the slide.
