While playing music through your AirPods, turn the iPhone’s volume all the way down.
Disable Bluetooth, start playing music so it comes out of the iPhone’s speaker, and then turn the iPhone’s volume all the way down again.
Enable Bluetooth and reconnect the AirPods.
