Situatie
Problem: On newer laptops or PCs (especially those equipped with NPUs or Copilot+ features), games or graphics-intensive applications experience brief frame hitches (micro-stuttering), even though GPU and CPU usage are nowhere near 100%
Cause: Background local indexing and contextual analysis services (AI Core Services / WebExperienceHost) continuously attempt to process screen frames or text in real time.
Solutie
Solution (Command Prompt / Registry):
Disable background AI telemetry and advanced indexing using a single command run with elevated privileges:
-
Press
Win + S, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator. -
Execute the following command:
DOS
reg add “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Copilot” /v TurnOffWindowsCopilot /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
Effect: Windows stops allocating system resources to background AI processing, eliminating sudden frame drops and input lag in games and rendering software.
