How to Format a drive letter without partition on Windows 11

If the drive doesn’t have a partition, use the steps:

Open Start
Search for Disk Management and click the top result to open the app
Right-click the drive and select the New Simple Volume option.
Click the Next button.
(Optional) Specify how much storage to assign the drive.
Click the Next button.
Select the Assign the following driver option and choose the letter for the drive.
Click the Next button.
Select the Format this volume with the following settings option.
In the “File System” setting, select the NTFS option.
In the “Volume label” setting, confirm the name for the drive.
Check the Perform a quick format option.
Click the Next button.
Click the Finish button.

Once you complete the steps, the tool will create a partition and format it using the file system you specified.
