A Media Server is a server that is set up to stream media files (like music, movies) over the internet to a number of devices from anywhere. As long as the server remains on, you will have access to your files from anywhere. One such media server option, Plex, allows you to organize and categorize your files and then play them back from a variety of devices for a small fee.
Solutie
Part 1 Installing
1 Download the Plex Installer.
2 Right click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
3 When the User Account Control prompt appears, select Yes.
4 Select the Install button and wait for the installer to finish.
5 When the installer is finished, click Launch.
Part 2 Setting Up
1 Proceed to the Settings panel by clicking the tool icon in the upper right corner.
2 Select the Server option.
3 Click the General tab in the side bar and enter your login information in the area provided .
4 Select the Library tab in the side bar. Change the setting so the Update My Library Automatically option is checked. Do the same for the Update My Library Periodically option and the Include Music Libraries In Updates option. Also make sure that the option to Empty Trash Automatically After Every Scan is unchecked.
Part 3 Creating Your Library
1 Select that Home button in the upper left corner. Once at the home screen, create a library by selecting the plus icon.
2 Select the type of files that will be included in the library.
3 Click on the Add Folders tab and select the browse for media folder.
4 Navigate to the directory where your files are stored on your computer and select OK.
5 Unless you have purchased a Plex pass subscription, select the basic library option.
6 Leave these settings as default.
Part 4 Setting Up Your Android Device
1 On your Android device, find and open your Google play store app.
2 Search for “Plex”.
3 Select the install option from the store.
4 After the app installs, launch it .
5 Pay for streaming if desired. When the app is launched you will see this screen. If you want to be able to play the media on your server with the app you will need to select the pay 4.99 option. If you just want to browse your media and control the server, then select the sign in option.
6 Use the server to access your files and play the libraries from anywhere with an internet connection.
