In ServiceNow, the concept of a “master incident” is typically referred to as a Parent Incident or sometimes a Major Incident. This allows you to link multiple related “child” incidents to a single overarching incident, streamlining communication and resolution efforts.

Create a New Incident
Go to “Incident” > “Create New” or “New”
Fill in Incident Details
Fill in the necessary details for the new incident
Go to the Related Records Tab
Navigate to the “Related Records” tab.
Find the “Parent Incident” field
Locate the “Parent Incident” field
Enter or Search for the Parent Incident
Enter the parent incident number or use the magnifying glass to search for and select it.
Submit the New Incident
Click “Submit” to create the new child incident and link it.
