Windows 11 has the new feature to show web results when you search using the start menu. You can see the related web searches in the search results. It is useful to see search results from the web, but sometimes it may annoy you with a plethora of web results. You may see more web results for the searched term rather than results for files or folders in your system. Thus, you may get distracted by these web results.

Disable web results in Windows 11 search using the registry option
- Click on the Start option.
- Type Regedit in the search bar.
- Select the top result. It will open the Registry Editor for your system.
- Open the path: Current_User\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows.
- Right-click on the Windows folder and click on new.
- Select the key option.
- Type Explorer as the key name and press Enter.
- Right-click on the newly created key.
- Click on the new menu and click on the DWORD (32-bit) value option from the menu.
- Type DisableSearchBoxSuggestions as the name for DWORD and press Enter.
- Double-click on the new key.
- Enter 1 as the value data.
- Click on the OK button.
- Restart your system after completing all instructions.
After restart, search using the start option. You will not see the web results in the search results.
Disable web results in Windows 11 search Using the group policy
- Open the Start menu.
- Type gpedit in the search box. Get gpedit in Windows 10 home.
- Click on the top result. It will open the Group Policy editor window.
- Open the path: User Configuration\ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \File Explorer.
- Find the option: Turn off the display of recent search entries in the File Explorer search box and double-click on it.
- Choose the Enabled option.
- Click on the apply button.
- Click on the OK button.
- After completing all the instructions, restart your computer.
After restart, search using the start option. You will not see the web results in the search results.
