Situatie
There are times when a mistake may cost the files from your folder. Unless you have Windows backup disabled this could help you recover your files. We’re talking about pictures, documents, files etc. This applies even when you have a lot of files with almost the same name.
Simptome
- You acces your folder with the intend to open one of your files, where you realize the file is missing.
- The first thing you think of is checking the recycle bin and still cant find it.
- You search it by name and find out the file is no longer located in your computer.
Backup
When you check for a aprevious version there is always the option to ‘open’ the folder at the previous version without restoring it. In case you restore to your previous version of the folder and you manage to ‘damage’ other files, there s always the option to copy the file you need and restore again the folder to the original version.
Solutie
You go to the folder, right click and go to properties, you have a tab with ‘Previous versions’, there you can find all times that folder had suffered modifications. You search the date and hour you remember you had interaction with your file and you either open the previous version of the folder or you restore it.
If what you need is the only file in the folder that had modification before the newer version of it you can simply restore the folder. If there are more people who constantly acces the folder and make changes, you should just open the older version of the folder, recover your file and place it back in the folder.
