Besides the desktop version, you can set up IPFS on a browser, preferably Brave, which is already configured to support the protocol. To do so, follow these steps.

Open Brave and go to the IPFS Settings page by typing brave://settings/ipfs on the top search bar and pressing Enter.
Select the following settings; select the Method to resolve IPFS resources as Local Node and turn the IPFS public gateway fallback from off to on.
Scroll down to IPFS Companion and turn it on. You’ll be prompted to install the Brave IPFS extension. Click on Add Extension and wait for the installation to complete.
If prompted to allow access by Windows Defender Firewall, select Allow Access. Otherwise, your Brave browser is set and should show how many peers your node is connected to.
